spideywingHmm...not Lord of the Rings. Do I contradict myself? Then I do. I am huge, I contain multitudes, to paraphrase Capt. Calhoun. (Who quoted it from someone else, I can't recall who)
Well, I really liked this. To start out with, we have Elsa and the Tyrannodrones drilling for some mineral in a cavern. They find it, of course. Now, I'm going to take an opportunity to say that I did not like Elsa's actress at this point in the epsiode. On to Mesagoog's lab, where teh evah White Ranger clone has made an improved Terrorsarus, to whom Elsa feeds the gem, to give it the trick of sealing the ranger's morphing abilities.
On to the DT Command Center, where Haley and InvisTommy have come up with a way to get JDF back on the show. (It's actually to make him visible, but I like mine better.) Guess what they decide to power it? That's right, it's Tommy's Dino Gem! Well, it works. He's visible, but in a major coma. His Gem's shattered.
So, they take him to a hospital, where the doc says that he'll get the best care possible. Must still be on Reefside's medical plan. As they rangers and Haley hover concerndly over him, the (I'll use "AbareTerrrorsaurus") returns, and the rest of the team rushes out.
In Tommy's head, though, he's in a red-tinted area, wondering where he is. When, ZR 5 steps out (OhRed to you sentai fans) and they start the seemingly standard knock-down, dragdown battle of DOOM! ...And Elendil.
Meanwhile, in the real world, the Rangers have arrived to fight AbareTerrorsarus, and Conner's the first on the scene. He makes some quip about AbareTerrorsarus' mother, (actually, no, but I'm experimenting in humor) and the battle is joined! Conner's blasted a few times, when Kira and Conner drive by, blasting the Raptor cycles' guns, and drive by in the standard "we rock" kind of way. Well, a little bit later, the Rangers are on the recieving end of a major laser blast, when Trent drives up, lasers blasting. AbareTerrorsarus fires, causing Trent to spin out and land on his back, demorphing. Also, this causes his morpher to spark. After a few more blasts, the same happens to the others, too. They try to morph again, failing. The monster leaves, and Cassidy and Devin run up.
The Channel 3 boss told Cassidy and Devin to get some footage of the team fighting, and they can't, since the team can't. So, when they get back to the station, chief-guy puts her on the 6:00 news so she can report that the rangers have abadoned Reefside.
Now, back to the only character the fans care about, Tommy. Well, he beat ZR 5, and now he's in a white tinted area, facing down, believe it or not, the White Ranger. One more mega-battle later, Tommy's won again. So, we move on to a jungle, where Tommy says, "Okay, this is weird. Even by ranger standards." What shows up next is the Dragon Dagger from the orginial PR, and soon after, the first Green Ranger shows up.
Cutting back to the rest of them, they took off to go try to fight AbareTerrorsarus, and they're getting their asses handed to them.
Back to Tommy. After he wins against himself, the three early powers come to tell him that he was fighting for his life. Since he won, he gets to live, and gets his Dino Gem back, fully restored.
Going back to the others, they're on the ground, AbareTerrorsaurs about to finish the job, when Tommy kicks him aside. The others look suprosed to see him up. So, Tommy morphs, and kicks the monster off a cliff. Giving him enough time to...engage Super Dino Mode!
A few random hits and one Energy Orb later, AbareTerrorsaurus is down and all explodey. Well, he grows, but not before giving the other rangers their morphing abilites back. Tommy tells Red, Yellow and Blue to finish it, so they morph and engage the Thundersaurus Megazord. They send their SDM power to the Megazord, and they finish him off. A quick heart-warming scene later, and it's EPSIODE COMPLETE!
Thoughts:
1. The other Tommys-Great! The suits looked really close to the sentai ones. Save Green, since it had some sort of silver stripe on it.
2. The whole team: It was really nice to see them willing to kill themseleves to try to protect the world.
3. Cassidy/Devin-Hmm...Devin's the only one with any form of journalistic intregrity. Though, it was nice to see that Cassidy have a little, too.
So, I liked it. Good stuff all around.
