Graduation...
Jun. 12th, 2010 06:10 pmSo, my ceremony was last night, as Eldest mentioned in her DW/LJ. I've been feeling like I should say something about it myself, though I don't really have a clear train of thought, so my apologies if this is...disjointed.
First off, it was way too hot for the event. Georgia in summer and graduation wear do not add to anything good. Also...they had us basically standing around for over two hours waiting for it to start. While it was nice to talk to a few people I am on good terms with, that was the only plus. Also...they repeated the same instructions multiple times, to the point where I was getting pissed off by it. Heat and time weren't helping in that regard, either.
Once we got into it, though, it wasn't that bad. Although, the speeches were pretty much cut and paste from the ones from my HS graduation. Went up, got my cover, sat down, and that was it.And people who scream during the diploma presentation need to die. Horribly.
Afterward was...insane. There were people everywhere; and that was excluding the students trying to get the hell out! It took about twenty minutes from a personal perspective, but myself, my mother, Eldest, and my grandparents finally managed to meet up. They insisted on photos, if only because they couldn't get anything during the main ceremony. We took those, went to the store to get me some dinner, and went home. Kind of a boring evening, overall.
